NUSD is <strong><span style="color: var(--color-text-accent-primary)">preparing each and every one of our students for opportunities</span></strong> and fulfillment of their hopes and dreams. </p><p><span style="color: var(--color-text)">Each student across key educational milestones, </span><strong><span style="color: var(--color-text-accent-primary)">from elementary all the way to high school</span></strong><span style="color: var(--color-text-accent-primary)">,</span><span style="color: var(--color-text)"> must find in school a place to connect, learn, and grow.</span></p>

<h2>Academic Achievement</h2>

<p>A focus on <strong><span style="color: var(--color-text-accent-primary)">kindergarten readiness</span></strong> and <strong>third-grade reading</strong> for all students seizes the opportunity we have to close the gap for students of color and students of low income. <strong><span style="color: var(--color-text-accent-primary)">Engaging families</span></strong>, partnering effectively for warm transitions to school, and supporting teachers will get us future ready for all students in our district.</p>

<p><strong><span style="color: var(--color-text-accent-primary)">Attracting and retaining teachers </span></strong>requires affordable housing that considers families and access to childcare as foundational to success for students in public school.
